Aspirant HALT Community of Practice
With the establishment of the HALT Association NSW in 2023, we have welcomed over 150 aspirant HALTs who joined us as members. To support aspirant HALTs, we hold regular Community of Practice forums where we partner with NESA to provide support to our aspirant HALT colleagues. In these sessions, we have aspirant HALTs join us from across the sectors and across NSW.
The evaluation results from last year’s events were overwhelmingly positive and demonstrate the importance of providing this support each term in 2024. We are looking forward to holding our next sessions on:
- Term 4, Week 7 – Tuesday 26th November 2024:4-5pm.

Kylie Captain is a proud Gamilaroi woman, a best-selling author, and an educator with over two decades of experience in education, finance, and community services.
She has made significant contributions through her expertise in delivering impactful professional development and workshops across Australia. As the President of the Aboriginal Studies Association and the Founder of Dream Big Education Wellbeing and Education, Kylie leads initiatives that promote cultural awareness and Aboriginal educational excellence.
Kylie was a finalist for the NSW Woman of the Year Award in the category of Aboriginal Woman of the Year and recently published her third book at the iconic Sydney Opera House. Her commitment to using her extensive experience and overcoming personal adversities drives her mission to create positive change as she aims to make a difference, one student, one school, and one organisation at a time.
